Dear Mr. Haskell

Thank you for the response and for the inclusion of the link to your blogspot.  By copy of this reply, I will convey your request to the Mayor and CAO.  I will provide you with a response to your request prior to the August 21st meeting.

In the meantime, as I mentioned to you last week, please be reminded that the Town of Pelham posts video recordings of Council and Committee meetings on our municipal website.

Best regards,
Nancy Bozzato

Dear Nancy Bozzato,
Thank you for clarifying the Town of Pelham’s protocols regarding audio recording during council meetings.
As I stated before my handicap prevents me from sufficiently taking hand written notes.
Therefore I use audio recording for accuracy and clarity for my reporting.
Respectfully,
Preston Haskell

Dear Mr. Haskell;

Thank you for your interest in the Town of Pelham, and for submitting this request for permission to audio record proceedings of Pelham Council meetings.  The Town of Pelham Procedural By-law outlines the protocols for this type of request, including that any recording be carried out within the designated area (the gallery) and in such a manner as to not interfere with the proceedings of the Meeting.

As mentioned to you following the Council meeting of July 24th, and in accordance with our Procedural By-law, freelance individuals and/or representatives of a licensed telecommunications company are to advise Council in writing, setting out the intended use of the recording.  Should it be determined that the intended use of the recording is inappropriate, or if recording is disruptive, the privileges could be denied or withdrawn from the offending user.

Thank you again for making this written enquiry.  Once you have indicated the intended use of the recording(s) I will consult with the Mayor and CAO in accordance with the Procedural By-law and provide a response before our next scheduled meeting, August 21st.

Best regards,
Nancy Bozzato

Dear Town Clerk,
I have been told that I must apply for permission in order to audio record during Pelham Town Council meetings.
My handicap no longer allows me the ability to sufficiently take notes.
Please consider this my request for permission.
Respectfully,
Preston Haskell
